The Apostolic Church Cameroon
Sunday School Movement
(Children Ministry)
Motto: Catch Them Young for Jesus!
Greetings from Our National Sunday School Coordinator Rev. Balemba Solomon.
Welcome to The Apostolic Church Cameroon National Sunday School Movement and Children Ministry! We are thrilled to have you join us in this vital initiative that focuses on nurturing the spiritual growth of our children. This movement began with the inception of our church, as many who dedicated their lives to Christ brought their families, including their children, into the fold. Recognizing the importance of training these young hearts in the ways of God, our church fathers, including Apostle Adolf Ntungwen—the first African president of the church—established the Sunday School Committee to ensure appropriate training for our children.
Historical Context
The Sunday School Movement has been instrumental in raising future generations of the church, instilling in them the Apostolic doctrine and guiding principles. Our mission is to train children in the way they should go, so that when they are old, they will not depart from it. We take pride in the numerous testimonies of great individuals in the church and society today, all of whom have their foundations rooted in the Sunday School Movement of The Apostolic Church Cameroon. As we look to the future, we are committed to employing modern techniques and resources to train our teachers, ensuring they are well-equipped with the appropriate training methods to nurture our children effectively.
Leadership Structure
National Leadership
Our movement is led by the National Sunday School Committee, headed by Apostle Ayire Godfred. He is supported by a dedicated National Sunday School Coordinator, Rev. Balemba Solomon, along with a committee composed of pastors who serve as Sunday School coordinators from various fields within The Apostolic Church Cameroon. This leadership team is passionate about the spiritual development of our children and is committed to providing guidance and support to all Sunday School teachers.

Objectives of the Movement
The Apostolic Church Cameroon National Sunday School Movement has established several key objectives to guide our efforts:
- Spiritual Growth: We aim to ensure the spiritual development of our children, nurturing them in the ways of God through engaging and age-appropriate teachings.
- Sharing the Gospel to the Lost: Our mission extends beyond our church walls; we strive to reach out to other children who may not yet know God, sharing the message of salvation with them.
- Leadership Development: We focus on training children to develop leadership skills, empowering them to take charge and serve both within the church and in their communities.
- Skills Empowerment: We provide opportunities for children to acquire essential life skills that will help them succeed in various aspects of their lives.

- Fellowship: We create opportunities for children to engage socially, fostering healthy relationships as they interact with their peers.
Activities & Events
Regular Meetings
Sunday School classes are held every Sunday during service across various churches. We encourage parents to ensure their children participate in these classes, as they provide a foundational spiritual education that is both engaging and transformative.
Annual Events
- Annual National Week of Sunday School Activities: Held every July, this week is filled with various activities, including fasting and prayer, Sunday School presentations, and memory verse competitions. These events showcase the children’s knowledge of the Word of God and promote their spiritual growth.
- Nativity Week in December: During this festive week, children participate in activities celebrating Christmas and the birth of Christ. This event provides a fun and engaging way for children to learn about the true meaning of Christmas.
- National Sunday School Camp: Once a year, we organize a camp in Bekoko, Douala, where children are trained in various spiritual and social aspects. This camp offers a holistic approach to their growth, providing opportunities for learning, fellowship, and fun.
- Sunday School Teachers Training Courses: Our Sunday School teachers are dedicated volunteers who sacrifice their time to educate the children in every church. To equip them with the necessary skills for effective teaching, we offer training courses designed to enhance their abilities in imparting knowledge and nurturing young minds.
Community Engagement
In addition to our regular activities, the Apostolic Church Cameroon National Sunday School Movement is actively involved in outreach programs aimed at serving our communities. These initiatives allow our children to put their faith into action, demonstrating the love of Christ through service. Whether it’s organizing food drives, visiting orphanages, or participating in community clean-up efforts, we believe that serving others is an essential aspect of our faith.
Mentorship Initiatives
Recognizing the importance of guidance and support, we have established mentorship initiatives within our movement. Experienced leaders and elders mentor younger members, providing them with valuable insights and encouragement as they navigate their spiritual journeys. This mentorship fosters a sense of belonging and helps children develop the confidence they need to take on leadership roles.
The Future of the Sunday School Movement
Vision for Growth
As we look to the future, our vision for The Apostolic Church Cameroon National Sunday School Movement is one of continued growth and impact. We aim to expand our reach, engaging more children in the work of God and equipping them to be leaders in their communities. We envision a movement that not only transforms individuals but also revitalizes communities through the power of the Gospel.
Embracing Technology In an increasingly digital world, we recognize the importance of leveraging technology to connect with our children. We are committed to utilizing social media platforms, online resources, and virtual meetings to engage young people and provide them with spiritual content that resonates with their lives. By embracing technology, we can reach a broader audience and create a supportive online community for our children.
The Apostolic Church Cameroon National Sunday School Movement is more than just a program; it is a vital part of our church’s mission to nurture the next generation of believers. By embracing our core values, participating in our activities, and supporting one another, we can continue to grow spiritually and socially. We invite all families to engage with us in this noble mission as we strive to “Catch Them Young for Jesus.” Together, let us lay a strong foundation for our children, ensuring they grow into responsible, faith-filled individuals who will impact their communities and the world for Christ.
